Today’s society has us questioning and searching out… what is truth? does God exist? is eternity real? At the same time it has us hating every facet of organized religion causing a universal collision of forces beyond our control. And that’s just it– believer’s are out of control. We have taken on church like a huge PTA meeting and created a social club of infidels not understanding what eternity really is in the process. It’s left some of us confused and scarred–angered, feeling hopeless. We have so much of the world in us that we can’t be light unto darkness–we have become the darkness.

We make excuses for the true and right way to follow Christ saying it’s too hard. Or we use scripture to justify our laziness and blame the truth by quoting this verse and others  just so we can wallow in our worldliness…
Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

Why do you use scripture for your own selfish gain?

Here is a good way to gage the truth. When your really close friend had to be honest with you about something that you weren’t aware of–was it hard to hear?? Did you ever leap for joy and embrace what they revealed or were you sober for just a few seconds–just enough to take it in and apologize to your close friend? The truth will always make you sober and when you embrace the truth–it will free you too. You will be lighter after you have accepted the responsibility. Truth is not a burden…it may seem a burden at first because it reveals how deceitful and wicked the heart is–but the end result is freeing…never binding.

Tell me– what happened to as it said in Acts “and believers were added to the church daily”. Why? Jesus had already been crucified…what was so special about that time that we today have lost sight of. Could it be so simple as preaching the True Word of God and not fluff in our pulpits? Could it be as simple as prefer others over ourself?

Ephesians 5:13-14
13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Awake! Awake! Rise up for your Beloved is calling!
