One Night with the King

one night with the kingProverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

My husband and I rented this movie over the weekend and it was awesome. It is not only a great family movie but it is a beautiful biblical love story. What I also found so unique was how in the movie Esther truly wanted to learn how to please the king–she desired not jewels when given the opportunity to wear them for the king–but desired to know what would make the king happy. It is interesting how today many seeking someone to love– only seek to obtain love but do not seek out their True Love. Or how easy it is for a wife to demand and yet not ever seek to know what makes their husband happy and serve him…i speak to myself on that one.

Esther, throughout the movie often quoted a most powerful verse— Proverbs 25:2, It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

What are we searching out that God has concealed? A few verses down it says…Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

If you desire to see a great movie– watch One Night with the King.

  1. Finally watched the movie last night. Tears flowed not from emotion but from the gentle moving of God’s Holy Spirit. The scene where she runs into the court and the crowds yell and scream for her to be punished because she has broken protocol was especially touching to me when The King said I am the King and the King can extend his sceptre to whomever he wishes….Thank God that He did for me…a chief sinner yet God amazingly loved me and am a whosoever.

  2. hey there Amy ready your comment and you sound interesting but i have top say that too much coffee is not got at all it wrecks your nerves since it it is kind of like a drug.
