evolving versus emerging

emptyYou may ask why this blog is called evolving church rather than the emerging church. Well quite simple– the emerging church already exists. It is those who have come out of the organized church–the coffee drinkers–the relationship builders–the experiential seekers. It is emerging–and eventually we will see it evolve. But what will it be when it evolves? Will it be just like the traditional church but in homes in stead? Or in coffee houses? What is the church going to evolve into this time? Will we repeat every other generation–or will we come forth as gold, spotless in the eyes of our Creator?

more later…

here’s more…

so they say that the “emerging church” began almost a decade ago causing a response to dwindling numbers of young adults in the 20s and 30s actually attending church…gee they must have been bored or something–wanting a message that catered to their self indulgent nature–otherwise known as “SIN”. So from that statistic–do you actually think that anything good will come out of this postmodern experience? In Acts, you can clearly read that many were added to the church daily because of the persecution–not because they were searching to satisfy their self indulgent nature. Believers in the western hemisphere of the world have become so so fat and plumpy. We are just seconds away from the alarm going off to roast our ass. And we have a hood over our heads and cannot see the eternity stands at the door and knocks. Who shall enter? So do you want to strike a nice chord during worship at your established church that has emerged in the mid-90s or are you searching for the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

And now everyone is asking–can you hear the whispers in the market? What’s the next wave? What’s the next wave? The next wave will hit us all in the face if we don’t start putting our focus on Jesus and less on our nature. For the Bible says that God will judge His house first–before He judges the world. Are you ready? Are you prepared? Do you have oil in your lamp?

Stop looking for a place where you can be yourself–did Jesus whine and complain to all His disciples because the Pharisees didn’t accept Him? No, the wisdom of God confounded them, and they were challenged, He silenced their scoffings…

1 Corinthians 1:20-25
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
