Uniquely, our friends also blessed us with a unique gift for our anniversary. A gift to treasure until eternity (my husband says that it will go with us wherever we travel). They gave us a rock–but it is not any rock. As you can see it has 2 holes in it. One hole is shallow and the other is deep. They said that whenever either of us has an issue or problem–either hubby or myself–we are to get the rock. The person with the biggest issue puts their finger in the biggest hole and their spouse puts their finger in the shallow hole. The one with the issue then shares their issue and afterwards–they pray. Isn’t that cool? I thought it to be quite zany and creative! For I often hear the phrase–“marriages that pray together, stay together.”
Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Now here is a controversy–isn’t it true wives, that we strive with our husband’s to wear the pants in the family and try to be in authority? But when we do it causes discord and strife in the home? I am not speaking of subserviance–but simply allowing the man to lead…because the Lord created him to lead…and this is the blessing that follows…
LOVE — PURE LOVE will dwell and PEACE shall be present.
I know, it’s a hard thing–but I daily ask Jesus for help…sometimes I fail, but I am thankful for His mercy and His counsel.
