The Narrow Road of Salvation

These past couple of weeks have been again ever so enlightening concerning the vital need to truly know Christ. It seems that the era we live in is precariously falling into a state of apostasy and delusion not to mention famine from the true Gospel. It outright is scary if you ponder it.

Recently we have visited so called churches that have lacked the Gospel message and instead are preaching to the little lambs that it is okay to embrace unbelief. This somewhat emerging move of 20th century Evangelicalism is certainly something to tread carefully upon and not get caught up in the hype that is offered through their realms of secular entertainment to promote their own kingdom come and produce high flock numbers that only induce fame of their own name rather than of preaching a Gospel message that stings the heart bringing it to a place of deep repentance and cry of how my righteousness is as filthy rags. For nothing good in me dwells. Okay so that was a big run on sentence–but I am sure you get the gist of what I am trying to say.

Revelation 3:14-22″And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.17 Because you say,’I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ — and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked — 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”‘”NKJV

2 Timothy 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.KJV

Wow– that last part brings fear– ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. I can certainly attest to that as being well learned. College for 8 years–grew up in a family that went to church every time the church doors were open–bible college…ever learning. And yet I am still desiring to know the Truth that I have not known.

James 5:1-7 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.KJV

Is this not the day we live in–a day of promotion of self kingdoms–wealth beyond measure and the Gospel being given with a price tag on it. No more can one enter a conference without a price. I can see it now if we were walking with Christ as did the disciples explaining to him how we must charge the people to come and hear Him speak because we have no food to eat and no money to pay our bills and what about traveling expenses. For Jesus surely traveled across the land to different countries–He certainly must be considerate of His needs to travel. And what about the clothes on His back–they will get worn after a while. And yet to all these surmisings –here is His reply repeatedly throughout the New Testament with regards to unbelief…

Luke 14:26-28
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?KJV

And yet there is no where in scripture where a wife is to hate her husband–this my friends is a deep mystery ad something further to be discussed. For this scripture alone combats the continual rise of feminism…

Matthew 6:30
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?KJV

Matthew 8:26
26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.KJV

Matthew 14:31
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?KJV

Matthew 16:8-11
8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?KJV

Luke 12:28-30
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.KJV

So tell me again–why do we charge for the Gospel that was given so freely to us beyond measure or why do we preach a different Gospel? For the church has truly become partnered with the world in a most deceptive way–for we have catered to our own needs and wants and have forgotten our Creator who in one flick of a second thought of us to bring us into this God forsaken world and then can in another flick take us out. That sure brings a fear of God to my heart. And all the works that I have built up as a tower are as rubble to Him who knows the true intentions of my heart as I stand before Him stripped naked and blind.

For instance–here is a remark from a paper that Peter is recently reading and his reply to it…

Sadly, issues such as divorce, teenage pregnancy and illicit drug usage in “the Church” mirror those of secular society. “Church hopping” is common among Christians. How many adults today are still part of the same denomination they grew up in? Many are leaving the ranks of “evangelical Christianity” altogether. Not Subject To The Law Of God

–Husband’s Remarks–
Many are leaving the ranks of “evangelical Christianity” altogether: I am not sure when this article was written, but what is sure to see that through out the US many large congregations of intermingled beliefs have been cropping up all over; calling themselves evangelical. From east to west and boarder to broader these mega churches of an evangelical type and kind, have become a force to recon with. Nondenominational have taken this evangelical title and vise-versa.

Souls whom by personal experience have displayed little to no depth of New Testament church reality. Since the early seventies until now the rise and fall of such movements as cell groups and house churches have been beaten down and out of ‘focus so as to state these types are more a cult then these of whom I do suggest are just that; a cult to hide the deepest sin of unfaithfulness’ this world has never seen before! What would house the blind and naked? Well a mega church of course. What true accountability could truly bring in a deeper call and cry to divine repentance if a service is so large that Jesus would seem small when He’ fed the three & five thousand. The mass to ponder when souls meet for a Sunday service the very air is charged with hordes of unseen dissemination. The largest church we’ my wife and I attended at the end of that service there was about four thousand attends. Some churches now have eight (thousand) and up meeting at one time. End.

For we have not seen the last of this old yet emerging movement and its blantant deception that the government now even applauds and seeks counsel from.

Hosea 13:2-9 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help. KJV

May we all come to the true knowledge of Christ and embrace the true Gospel message–may it never falter from our lips and may our witness be strong and break the back of the rising beast of the age.

blessings.

  1. Hi…interesting blogs here…I don’t have much time, but thought I would just jot down a quick comment…It is paradoxical (the Luke 14 scripture) isn’t it…that Jesus says there …”hate his wife…” and yet the scripture commands a husband to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. (If you get a chance you should check out the book by Debi Pearl called “Created to be His Help Meet”…I am going through it a second time and truly believe, strongly believe, that it is the very best instruction to wives ever written…only bringing out what the scripture teaches on the subject. It can be found at http://www.nogreaterjoy.org. Her husband also has some good teaching to husbands.) Blessings to you in finding good fellowship there. It is hard when the “megachurch” mentality runs this countries religous circles, but Jesus has His remnant who are meeting together biblically and seeking to grow up into the fullness of Him.

  2. Amen Lindsay! Can’t agree with you more! And yes– scripture in Luke is totally paradoxical that it doesn’t mention for the wife to hate her husband but vice versa.

Kristen thank you– I love your blog too! So how do I get more people to visit my blog? I would love to start some discussions…
